Erased Tapes unveil further works from acclaimed Japanese multi-instrumentalist Masayoshi Fujita with their announcement to release ‘Bird Ambience‘, the artist’s seventh album.
Fujita, a master vibraphone and marimba player who was accredited on SHAPE platform’s 2016 roster, has previously worked with the likes of Jan Jelinek, seeing the acclaimed German ambient composer releasing two albums of collaborative on his Faitiche label — ‘2010’s ‘Bird, Lake, Objects‘, and ‘Schaum‘, in 2016.
Hardly one to rely on others for their output, the artist has also released numerous solo works, predominantly through Erased Tapes Records. ‘Bird Ambience‘ is the latest, and sees Fujita combining his experiences in electronic production and effects into the acoustic membrane of his solo output, resulting in enveloping music which readily seeps into the fabric of the air.
A near-mythic collation of ambient music that achieves one potential goal of the genre with clarity and command, the album’s title track also features the voice of Erased Tapes artist Hatis Noit, whose pure frequencies are arranged almost as if a layer of synthesiser to adorn the track.
‘Bird Ambience’ is scheduled for release May 28 via Erased Tapes. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
