Berlin-based producer Max Graef returns to Tartelet Records with his first release since 2018’s ‘Lo Siento Mucho Pero No Hablo Tu Idioma‘.
His highly anticipated album straddles a diverse range of machine-made sounds, seamlessly combining ambient lullabies, dubbed-out instrumentals, trip-hop infused with trance, ethereal downtempo, and syrupy jungle.
Faced with all odds against conformity, Graef unleashes a fully fledged version of himself with this enthralling mixtape exploring psychedelic realms at a wide-ranging speed, influenced by his early jazz-sampled house methods and deep probes into uncanny experiments.
Graef reveals his production methods on his third solo album: “After the sketches I worked a lot with the computer again, which I haven’t done in years. Intensive MIDI work and arrangement, but especially working with elements of the sketches in all possible ways, going back and forth with analog and digital equipment, pitching, time-stretching, really soaking up the beautiful inspiration of limitation.”
