Canadian electroacoustic record label Marionette mark their 20th release with the fourth solo long-player from experimental German synthesist Max Loderbauer.
A highly respected collaborator of the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Moritz Von Oswald and Tobias Freund, Max Loderbauer is acclaimed for his dextrous approach to the ambient aesthetic, employing his Buchla modular synth and Haken fingerboard with dramatic effect.
Consisting of 8 tracks, ‘Petrichor‘ is said to represent “Max at his most exhilarating state, morphing through bittersweet and optimistic soundscapes to bleak moments of throbbing unease – all while maintaining a sense of grace and elegance.” Highlights include ‘Im Wald‘, ‘Kastanieda‘ and ‘Der rote Draht‘.
‘Petrichor’ is scheduled for release 28 September via Marionette. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
