Following the final edition of Nachtdigital in August 2019 – the organisers behind the much loved German festival have pieced together a photo book to reflect on the 22 year history of Nachti.
Consisting of 224 pages, ‘Zum Bungalowdorf 1‘ presents a selection of colour and black-and-white photographs taken by photographer Christian Rothe, allowing viewers to reminisce about the sorely missed festival. At the same time, the photo book captures a glimpse of the attitude to life of an entire generation that has found its common denominator: the love of electronic music.
“Christian Rothe succeeds in capturing snapshots that do not shy away from emotions without seeming voyeuristic and which are far away from the same old party pictures of an entire industry. The humour should not be missing, so it is hardly surprising that one is always made to smile when looking through the almost endless catalogue.”
The photo book is available to pre-order now and will be published in December 2021. The book also features selected text contributions (bilingual – German and English) as well as memories of very personal Nachti moments.
The book will also be published in a limited edition collector’s box, including a vinyl with music by long-time friends and members of the Nachtdigital family: DJ Playlist, Map.ache, Olivia and Robag Wruhme.
Each artist chose a picture from a selection of 600 photos and then produced a track with which their own personal association with Nachtdigital was to be processed. The box further includes a 20 x 30 cm high-quality photo print limited to one edition which makes every box unique.
