These days festivals are not just about the musical programming. Activities are now very much a key feature of the festival experience and that is why NeXTones, an Italian electronic music and arts festival held within a marble quarry located on the south side of the Alps, is presenting a series of activities aimed to introduce attendees to local Italian culture, through field trips, wellness programs and food tasting. To help break down what’s taking place this weekend (20 – 21st July), we’ve detailed each activity so you know exactly what you can do at NeXTones.
Saturday 21 July
Adventure – Adventure and fun along the torrents of the Val d’Ossola, accompanied by a dedicated alpine guide: a route suitable for the experienced and beginners, natural slides, waterfalls, rocky gorges and a wealth of unspoilt nature.
Bike Trekking – Explore the Fondotoce nature reserve, set between Lake Maggiore and Lake Mergozzo: a unique route between the beautiful Montorfano and the reed bed dividing the two lakes with its own specific ecosystem.
Landscape – An exploration of the medieval villages with demonstrations of stone construction and the wild woods revealing the true character of this mountainous area.
Terroir – A guided tour of the ancient inhabited hamlet of Oira at the foot of the Valle Antigorio, also known as the “garden” for its particular exposition to the sun, allowing a flourising cultivation.
Sunday 22 July
Brunch & DJ Set – An unusual brunch offering a taste of local produce such as the renowned Bettelmat cheese from the Alpe Devero, a natural paradise set amongst the mountain peaks. Brunch takse place from 12:00
Saturday & Sunday
Val Vigezzo – Trekking, mountain biking, climbing, golf, fishing and even hang gliding in the stunning valley of Val Vigezzo.
Wellness – A day devoted to relaxation at wellness at the Terme di Premia, exploring the numerous benefits of the thermal waters and avant-garde hydro-massage systems, surrounded by the mountains and the greenery of the Valle Antigorio.

Adrenaline – A thrilling 2 km Zipline experience facing the magnificent panorama of Lake Maggiore.
