After rupturing the promoter scene in Berlin with their ruff n tuff bookings and dancefloor wrecking parties, Climate of Fear take a natural step into the murky record label business. Тпсб, joins the “Russia’s Finest Exports” club and supplies ‘Laika’s Revenge‘ for release number one.
His ‘Sekundenschlaf‘ LP on feted Blackest Ever Black (RIP ✝) was filled with industrial and mechanical DnB and foggy foot work dub juxtaposed against ambient and experimental caveats. A great prelude for the development of his classy take on bass-techno and experimental offerings and on ‘Laika’s Revenge‘.
Not sure who Laika is, but if Тпсб’s response to avenging a misdemeanour usually results in producing some fiendish techno like this, then do it again, whoever you are. Clever drum programming with functional breakdowns help it drift effortlessly between techno stomper and broken-beat wobbler.
The writhing organ style melody drenched in reverb is accompanied by a polluted, murky thunderstorm field recording (bonus points for anyone who hears the coughing). The spicy UKG bassline and fearless tempo pair well together and punctuates the spirit of the Climate of Fear parties: techno for the bass music generation.
‘Laika’s Revenge’ is scheduled for release via Climate of Fear on 6 January 2020. Oder a copy from Bandcamp.
