Continually revolving closer to the black sun of new wave and EBM, Dresden’s very own Sneaker makes his return to Uncanny Valley to introduce his new joint endeavour, 1/2 GOTT – i.e. the duo he now forms with Zurich-based rising talent Scannoir. The pair’s self-titled debut, amusingly referred to by the label as ‘New Swiss wave‘, is scheduled for release on October 8.
Lifted from this multi-faceted collection of Giallo-influenced grooves – think John Carpenter and Josh Wink rubbing shoulders with Bauhaus and Moroder, our pick ‘Sehnsucht‘ gets the ball rolling on a freaky, ominous note. Casting a veiled threat on the dancefloor with its sustained acid bass onslaughts and punk-friendly drum programming lashing vehemently, the track throbs and rolls down the industrial alley with implacable steadfastness. Poisonous late nighter for the heads.
