Canadian label Nettwerk serve up the latest album from Black Brunswicker – the solo project from Indiana-born, now Manchester-based folk musician Ethan Helfrich.
Defying the trappings of modernity, Black Brunswicker aligns with the resistance, crafting a stripped-down soundscape of peaceful field recordings and acoustic guitar riffs drenched in space-delay effects. Interweaving post-folk daydreams with ethereal ambient soundscapes and rich drone textures. ‘Been Around Here Before‘ unfurls 10-tracks of meditative symmetry, evoking the lost wonders of nature.
Our pick is fifth track ‘Deep In A Summer Malaise‘ where birdsong and expansive guitar soundscapes merge effortlessly, weaving a delicate tapestry of post-folk tradition with sci-fi ambient tones.
‘Been Around Here Before’ is out today via Nettwerk. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
