Puerto Rican native Cali Lanauze has made a serious impression on the global house scene, releasing sought-after material on Sleep Is Commercial, BlaBla Berlin and My Favourite Robot while receiving support from heavyweights like Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Radio Slave and Samuel L Session.
Working with favoured collaborator Jonny Cruz, Lanauze produces slick and minimal mid-tempo groovers that crackle with an electrifying sense of restrained energy. His latest outing comes on his and Cruz’s newly-minted imprint Opulence: a four-tracker featuring remixes from Moscoman and Roman Flugel.
We’re excited to be premiering Flugel’s remix of the leftfield house creeper ‘Flyg’. Dubby delays and evolving textures conspire to create a fully absorbing atmosphere that feels a little like the tripped-out graphics on the record’s cover. If this psychotropic piece of dancefloor hypnotism is anything to go by, we highly recommend checking out the entire EP.
‘Flyg’ EP is scheduled for release 1st October 2018 via Opulence, order a copy from Juno.
