While many have been longing for the return of nightlife as we once knew it, Glasgow duo Co-Accused have been busy planning their new label. Co-Accused Records taps into some of the same energy that coursed through their legendary parties at West Glasgow’s Club 69 and is inspired by both the scene staples and emerging names that have graced their basement events.
The imprint can be seen as both a memento and a mission statement from the husband and wife duo. Musically, Co-Accused describe their label as encapsulating “sonic grooves from another galaxy”. Given the futuristic funk and unrelenting grooves on the ‘Psychonaut Society’ EP, it seems a fitting description.
Co-Accused recruit Jensen Interceptor for remix duties, the Australian electro specialist delivering a deadly version of the EP’s title track. Primed for dancefloor annihilation, the producer’s sonic signature is easily identifiable on this one. High velocity and high intensity throughout, the switch to 4/4 in the final stretch kicks things up another gear.
‘Psychonaut Society’ is scheduled for release 14 May via Co-Accused Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
