Polish techno producer DEAS opens up his own label, Bau Musik, with ‘Block‘, a four-track EP of blistering dancefloor cuts which demonstrate the producer’s take on techno.
With previous releases through the likes of Dynamic Reflection, MATERIA, and the legendary Dutch imprint Planet Rhythm, DEAS has carved a line through techno, catching support from some of the most illuminated names in the genre today. With the launch of Bau Musik, a label inspired by his love of the Bauhaus artistic movement, DEAS seeks to share further music from himself and affiliated friends on vinyl.
‘Confusion‘ is first out of the gate, setting the scene for the rest of the EP with its rolling drums and muted synthwork. Functionality is placed at the core of the track, with the surrounding landscape adding the final touches of shivering gloom, reflected in the composition of the track: the more melodic elements of the introduction serve as a queue-in, with the centre bulk of the track dedicated to warped frequencies geared to keep a floor moving through the night.
