Premiere: DJ Boring – Lonely Valentine

How time flies… already ten months since DJ Boring‘s YouTube hit ‘Winona‘ – which is now just 150 000 plays shy of the 2M bar – was uploaded for the first time. Back then, the upload had all the trappings of a tremendous one-off coup only algorithms have the secret to; no background was given to the curious DJ alias and it could well have been another clever trick from an avid channel to pump out views and build up an artificial hype out of nowhere. Yes, it could have but it wasn’t.

After releases on DJ Haus’ E-Beamz and Jacques Renault’s LPH White, Boring steps up on Shall Not Fade’s sister label Lost Palms with ‘Different Dates‘ EP, due out in shops on 18th August. Our pick – the smooth ‘Lonely Valentine‘ – finds the Australian-born, London-based producer in top-shape and doing what he does best – i.e. serving up a perky slab of heavy-lidded house doped on bouncy bleeps and shuffling hats. Break away from the hyperconnected tech world and go for a dive into dreamlike emerald lagoons.

Different Dates EP is released via Lost Palms on 18th August, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
