Premiere: Eduardo De La Calle – ARNOHCR

With over two decades of releases under his belt, including output on Modularz, Mule Musiq, Hivern Discs, Cadenza, Planet E, Night Defined Recordings and his own Analog Solutions imprint, Eduardo De La Calle is one of the most current and infinite producers in the four-four realm.

Following a 90s-inspired glitch & IDM full-length album last year as Quantum Collapse, the Spanish techno don joins Berlin’s explorative record label Futurepast in April with the release of ‘Kardama‘ EP. Produced during Winter, at a time when De La Calle was focussed on producing downtempo music, ‘Kardama’ serves up four raw analogue and emotionally driven rhythmic techno trips.

Our pick from the release is the closing track ‘ARNOHCR‘. Fast paced and potently hypnotic, it comes to full effect when a manipulated vocal sample takes control half way in – “This is not a revolution” – booted up with a rugged bass line and propulsive synth arpeggio – it creates a deep seductive nature that draws you in, while simultaneously evoking a slightly unsettling feeling from within its tones. Fans of Jeff Mills take note.

‘Kardama’ EP is scheduled for release on 14 April via Futurepast. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
