The first release of the year from Mind Dance arrives courtesy of label boss Furious Frank. It’s the producer’s first solo release since 2020’s ‘Trip 2 Fantasy’, which landed on the ever-reliable Kalahari Oyster Cult. ‘Wavepool’ contains no less than 3 hard-working original tracks and a remix from Public Possession regular Eden Burns.
Since Furious Frank’s first records in the mid-2010s, the producer has filtered with a whole range of mid-tempo styles. From the twitchy rhythms of ‘Leonzo’ to the dreamy tone of ‘Wavepool’, the tracks on this release give some indication as to the range of the Adelaide-based artist.
Our pick from the release is the remix by Eden Burns. The New Zealand producer gives ‘Blossom’ his usual oddball treatment. His version reduces the high-velocity groove of the original, resulting in something comparatively laid-back but by no means lacking in dancefloor impact.
