Following the re-release of ‘Gold Fiction Loop Garden‘ LP in 2019 – Imaginary Softwoods returns to Dutch imprint Field Records in February with the release of ‘The Notional Pastures Of Imaginary Softwoods‘ – an 11 track full length of effervescent ambient and electronica.
Former member of cult favourite American electronic music trio Emeralds, together with Steve Hauschildt and Mark McGuire, plus countless other outfits including Organic Dial and Outer Space, boss of Editions Mego sister-label Spectrum Spools as well as his own Mineral Disk imprint – John Elliott is amply certified.
Sonically, the album portrays a deep ambiance, waves of synths continuously hug the listener with a celestial shimmer. Our pick from the release is the jovial synth sequence ‘Mr. Big Volume‘ – powered by succulent pads and a heartstrings of emotions, an acute soundtrack as we slip into Spring.
‘The Notional Pastures Of Imaginary Softwoods’ is scheduled for release on 17 February via Field Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
