Premiere: Julia Sound – Things Get Better

Succeeding the ‘Party at the End of the World‘ single from Bae Baracus in October 2023, Canadian imprint Boomsmack prepare to release the seven-track ‘Julia Sound‘ LP – courtesy of British-Canadian collective Julia Sound.

Produced by multi-instrumentalist Lin Gardiner, who operates the Sound Garden Retreat recording studio, ‘Julia Sound‘ features seven ballads laced with post-rock drum breaks, dark ambient, kosmische soundscapes, and grey-slated trip-hop.

Our pick for the premiere is ‘Things Get Better‘ – thanks to its doomsday sound lab symphony featuring freaky arpeggios intertwined with tenebrous trip-hop rhythms and neo-celestial melodies. For Massive Attack disciples, here’s to better days ahead.

‘Julia Sound: Julia Sound’ LP was released on 22nd March via Boomsmack. Order a copy from here.
