Premiere: Lander & Adriaan – Saurus

In the wake of releasing a constellation of Belgian staple talents, Ghent-based imprint Marcel prepare to release the five-track ‘Millennial Breeze‘ EP – courtesy of frenetic producing duo Lander Gyselinck & Adriaan Van de Velde, better known as Lander & Adriaan.

Over the years of composing and touring with avant-garde jazz groups STUFF., Beraadgeslagen and LABtrio, Lander joins forces with the mad keyboardist Adriaan on the boundary-pushing ‘Millennial Breeze‘ EP. In consequence, their sophomore release blends ecstatic jazz with overwrought electronica and hi-NRG post-club oddities crossed with instrumental drum & bass.

Our pick for the premiere is ‘Saurus‘ – a free-jazz amen break celebrated on cloud nine by an assembly of cold-blooded ravers. With furious drum and bass breaks, nasty UK-inspired bass steamrollers, cheeky synthesizers and syncopated samples, Lander & Adriaan sound like Joe Armon-Jones reimagining The Sound Of Belgium documentary’s soundtrack.

‘Millennial Breeze’ EP is scheduled for release on 26th April via Marcel. Order a vinyl copy from Bandcamp.
