Premiere: Lazuli – Vision X – Khey

Bordeaux community radio and electronic music pushers Ola Radio have put together ‘Haute Fréquence‘, a 15-track audio document of music from the French collective’s circle and network.

The third compilation to have left the Ola stable, the purpose of this missive is “an ode to dance as an act of resistance and rebellion to increasing inequalities, discriminations, [and] marginalisation”, with the release arriving on International Workers Day (May 1).

The release comes courtesy of the likes of Lazuli, Vost, and Bernadette, and covers the full gamut of dance music genres, dipping in and out of trance, techno, jungle, hardcore and gabber, with post-punk and hardcore rap ythrown into the mix for good measure.

Our premiere, ‘Vision X – Khey‘ comes from Lazuli, and dips heavily into a slow-mo acid trance vibe. A beat made for stepping to pounds out the rhythm while the psychedelic trance licks douse the track in party fuel ready for burning. While progression is key to this kind of track, Lazuli balances the developing beat without overdoing it, keeping the golden core of the track rolling while adding some spice to the existing elements. Fine tuned weaponry for your arsenal.

Haute Fréquence’ is scheduled for release 1 May via Ola Radio. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
