Moving at the slow but steady pace of a couple releases a year, Spring Theory is a label that clearly prioritizes quality over quantity. Having previously issued music from Avalon Emerson, Sage Caswell, Project Pablo and Keita Sano, the San Fran-based imprint seamlessly made a niche for itself in the international house scene with great loads of keyboard sparkle and a sixth sense for groovy weightlessness.
Stopping by the Korean peninsula, Spring Theory hands its next catalogue entry over to Seoul vibist Mogwaa, as precedently heard on Clique, Star Creature and Redseal Records. Having us swan-diving into secret coves of glossy kosmo-balearic chords and chimey synth shimmers, ‘Pilgrim‘ is a real treat for the senses – and so is our premiere, the blissed-out closer, ‘Drizzle‘.
A fresh and balmy summer season doozy, equally suited for intrepid coral-reef exploration and laxed-out poolside sessions, this one’s a dreamy, laid-back belter of the finest type. Break the daily stress and sail off to a world of idyllic wonder.
Pilgrim is released via Spring Theory on 10th June, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
