Inaugurated with a debut EP from label mastermind Adryiano in the early days of 2016, Cologne-based imprint CESTRAW is about to make a splash with its second instalment ‘Quite Good Tracks Vol.1‘, a four-track compilation featuring contributions from local duo Monogenic, Soul Notes honcho Kastil, mysterious producer D.J. Shmugs and Adryiano himself.
Our premiere ‘Binz‘ is the work of Cologne pair Monogenic aka Julio and Arian. Imagine the lovechild of Annanan and Brendon Moeller, submerged into deep, aqueous rollings of reverb and tape-saturated delays. The track then turns the lo-fi turbo on halfway in, whipping a stiff 4/4 programming over hard-hitting claps and spraying hi-hats at breakneck speed. Nasty.
Quite Good Tracks Vol.1 is released via CESTRAW on June 17th, pre-order a vinyl copy from Juno.
