Premiere: N/UM – First Light

New York-based record label Ninetofire prepare to release ‘First Light’ LP courtesy of American production trio N/UM – composed of Emil Bovbjerg (vocals, synths), Elias Meister (guitar, electronics) and Jeremy Loucas (drum machines, samples).

As a bridge between classical instruments and computerised hardware, N/UM’s sound is rooted in improvisation and boundary-pushing aesthetics. As part of the upcoming ‘First Light‘ release, the trio brings together soft-hearted techno, trippy experimental, and minimal house.

Our pick is ‘First Light‘ – a blacked out improvisation combining minimal house kick drums, elegant basslines, spellbinding chants, fluid conduits of guitar arpeggios and spaced-out frequencies. As you skirmish again with evil spirits in your obscure nightmares, N/UM provides a soothing truce soundtrack to calm your nerves.

‘First Light’ EP is scheduled for release on 23rd February via Ninetofire. Order a copy from here.
