Berlin’s Voodoo Down Records celebrate their 11 year anniversary with a compilation of artists and producers that have been a part of the label’s first decade. ‘11 Years Voodoo Down Records‘ features the likes of N’Conduit, Tobias., STL, and label founder Sean Philips appearing under his 12 x 12 alias.
Today’s premiere highlights the contribution from Bristol-based Julian Raymond Smith, aka October. Following releases on Honey Soundsystem, Tempa, and Happy Skull, October returns to Voodoo Down with his track, “Like a God“.
Pairing off-kilter techno rhythms, synth swirls, and squelchy acid flourishes, October’s track presents an experimental side to the compilation’s underground club sounds. Turn the lights down low and let “Like a God” was over and possess you with its sinister, skewed rave elegance.
