Brooklyn’s illustrious Mister Saturday Night crew have been a little quiet in recent months, reportedly owing to some manufacturing difficulties that had thrown a mighty spanner in the proverbial works. Good news is on it’s way, however, from the MSN camp, as the clouds clear and a brand new 12″ descends down from the heavens, their first since September 2017.
Their latest signing is Mancunian newcomer Olsen, marking his debut vinyl release this April with a four-track extended player that trades in wistful chords and nuanced production. ‘No One Belongs Here More Than You‘, summed up fittingly by the label as “melodic, dreamy, and understated“, is a subtly melancholic, finely detailed expedition into the imagination. Though primed for the dancefloor, there’s undoubtedly a cinematic air to it that would suit itself equally to a late-night headphone trip.
We’re glad to be bringing you an exclusive premiere of the record’s highlight, “Closer“. An exercise in rhythmic subtlety, this one cuts straight to the chase, carefully balancing a selection of bubbling synthesizers that circle the beat in a laid-back fashion, restrained yet cautiously emotive.
