After a first incursion on the label with the excellent ‘Control/Information/Version‘ last year, Bristol multi-hatted don Daniel Davies aka Ossia returns to Berceuse Heroique this summer to deliver a hell of a mind-bending 2-tracker that oozes nothing but pure race-bred UK bass and dubstep pedigree and incoming club ravage for miles around. Involved on remix duty, Fringe White and Hotline head honcho Lurka also makes an extra solid contribution on the flip.
Streaming over our channels, the A-side – ‘Tumult‘ – is a springy, high-octane riddim packed to the rim with a sturdy alloy of convulsive bleeps, menacing drums and beefy sub-bass flexions bulldozing their way through onto the closest dancefloor. Davies’ cunning mashups between all-out broken rhythmics and crisp textural arrangements laid out across an intricate skein shall show as deadly in the basement as they can be appreciated for their inch-perfect sound design in a home-listening environment. A wild, volatile treat at all levels.
