Premiere: Posture – Take It Off

Sydney-based record label Velodrome add a third release and a second vinyl to their repertoire with Posture’sBrain Dance‘ EP.

Despite being composed during the lockdown period in Australia, the four tracks held within have a touch of class that ensures these will be timeless tracks for the club well beyond any enduring restrictions. Tight production, psychedelic composition and straight-up fun throughout — Posture seems quite capable of distilling that same party essence we’re seeing coming out of Australia’s dance capitals.

The four tracks might well be certified party fuel, but there’s also an hint of restraint in the music, audible in the likes of ‘Heartbeat”s mellow tones. Not so for EP closer ‘Take It Off‘: a woozy, flushed rhythm underlines the track’s frantic breaks samples which should keep this track bookmarked for heating up a set — especially with the alternating male and female voices repeating the title into the ears. Quite special, considering this is the artist’s debut EP.

‘Brain Dance’ EP is scheduled for release 11 February via Velodrome Recordings. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
