Premiere: Pyrame – Electronica Melancholia (Volta Cab Post Punk Ride)

Four years after their inaugural release, Berlin-based Thisbe Recordings prepare to release a four-track remix compilation – courtesy of Swiss interplanetary poet and producer Pyrame.

Following releases on German record label Hifi/Lofi, Pyrame delivers a saccharine twist to his previous release ‘Electronica Melancholia‘ – released in October 2022. As part of this release, the producer forged the foundations of a trippy labyrinth filled with leftfield house, dubbed-out downtempo and post-punk oddities remixes operated by Italian producer A-Tweed, Philip Lawns and Krasnodar-based troublemaker Volta Cab.

Our pick from the release is Volta Cab‘s post-punk interpretation of ‘Electronica Melancholia‘ produced by Pyrame – from the slate-grey clouds of smoke-filled synthesizers intertwined by industrial sirens, through strains of full-bodied snares and spooky synth-wave arpeggios, the giant of the Caucasus crafted a cyberpunk mantra for twilight disco roughnecks.

‘Electronica Melancholia Remixes’ is scheduled for release on 29th March via Thisbe Recordings. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
