Premiere: Quail & Aisha – Leatherbound

Soma line up their second release from Quail & Aisha with a three-track EP that cuts to the chase, with two hard-hitting originals plus a devastating remix of the title track from Felicie.

Quail and Aisha, both hosts at the Animal Farm night in Glasgow, have collaborated in past releases on Soma, but appear to be stepping up on their original productions recently.

The Fall‘ marked their debut release on Slams’ label, demonstrating their take of hardware-focussed hard techno workouts — and ‘Leatherbound‘ doesn’t drop the baton.

Leatherbound‘ slips immediately into a ground-shaking 4/4 template. The extended introduction gives enough time for DJ’s to get the track into formation for the full assault, heralded by a hammering acid line, that scarcely lets up until the track’s close. Quail & Aisha have built a cut of dancefloor material that has you aching for a club, balanced on the knife-edge of ecstasy.

‘Leatherbound EP’ is scheduled for release 2 November via Soma. Order a copy from Bandcamp
