Now on the cusp of their 51st release, Edinburgh-based venue and record label Paradise Palms prepare to release ‘Adventures In Retail‘ – courtesy of English DJ and producer Ravelston.
After taking part in the radio station EHFM and previous releases on Berlin-based imprint Natural Positions, Ravelston delivers his sophomore 2-track ‘Adventures In Retail‘ EP on Paradise Palms. This leftfield treasure offers chuggy grooves, blissful downtempo, and dubbed-out ballads for both compulsive buyers and slow ravers.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Adventures In Retail‘ – a Mbira-driven dialogue set in a celestial outlet in Burgundy’s countryside. Ravelston displays a contemporary satire of our meaningless consumption decisions with a highly abstract French tutorial on buying luxury clothing, uplifting percussions, and acid-infused basslines.
