Premiere: Rizla Ops – Tesselism

With a decade of notable releases from I Hate Models, London-based Bailey Ibbs and Warning’s affiliate LUZ1E among others, Berlin-based record label Voitax prepare to release the four-track ‘Apparatus‘ EP – courtesy of UK-born misfit Rizla Ops.

Following previous releases on Redakted Records, Leeds-based imprint Gimme A Break and Classical Trax, ‘Apparatus‘ dives deep into post-mortem grievances and returns to the essence of life. Spread across four tracks, Rizla Ops presents a deconstructed sonic universe in the tradition of UK bass bolstered with an amalgamation of obscure grime, warped techno riddims and lysergic sound design.

Our pick for the premiere is ‘Tesselism‘ – thanks to its Tessela-infused sonic earthquake laced with psyched-out arpeggios, amapiano-like rhythms and twisted screeches. The perfect blend of worldwide club aesthetics to blast preferably on a berserk dancefloor.

‘Apparatus’ is scheduled for release on 15th December via VOITAX. Order a copy from here.
