Following the release of ‘Night Terror‘ by Jason Burns, New York label Planet 9 ready their next intergalactic broadcast in the form of Rusinaak’s ‘Willowbrook’ EP. His own take on downtempo dancefloor bleep, it’s the first release from the label co-founder under this alias.
Opening track ‘NSB’ also features Panooc on saxophone and Munich-based DJ and producer duo Friedrich Trede and Stephan Michael Braun aka Rhode & Brown take the title track to cheerful new heights.
Sickly sweet, but with a dash of melancholy, Rhode & Brown’s remix of ‘Willowbrook’ veers into cheesy territory without taking things too far. The pads float in zero gravity and the drum programming is similarly lightweight, though with enough bounce to keep heads nodding and toes tapping.
‘Willowbrook’ is scheduled for release 1 July (Bandcamp exclusive) and 15 July (general release) via Planet 9. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
