Following notable albums from American psych-rock band Khruangbin, Ash Walker, and luminary house legend Ron Trent, London-based record label Night Time Stories prepare to release ‘low key, low pressure‘ in November, the anticipated fifth album from legendary German duo Matthias Reiling and Hauke Freer better known as Session Victim.
After two dancefloor focussed 12-inches on Rhythm Section and Jimpster’s Delusions Of Grandeur, Session Victim line up a 12 track full length oscillating between sunset ballads for bearded hippies, psychedelic breakbeats, inspired by Rocksteady Crew’s power-moves, free jazz extravaganza and dubbed-out trip-hop reminding the good old DJ Shadow’s era.
Our pick from the release is ‘Walk In The Park‘ – a dewy-eyed salute to expanded sunset moments featuring flecks of neo-disco romance, hazed-out jazzy Rhodes chords, nuzzled bass grooves and celestial vocals.
