Berlin-based producer Snuffo has been producing and performing behind a mask since 2012, peeping out on imprints as Renate Schallplatten, Clasicos Del Ruido and Burek and debuting with his first full-length two years ago on his own imprint In The Dark Again with ‘Live Free Or Die‘ LP. Founder of Snuff Trax and part of Kat Channel with Alienata, the artist recently announced his upcoming tape on the Russian label Raw Union titled ‘No Future Without Past’.
Featuring remixes from three Russian selectors – Raw Union’s curator St Theodore, Larionov and PAUSA’s founder Stepan Yakushev – the eight track extended player presents a well curated mix of gloomy EBM chords, uplifting electro and techno, referring to important passages of Snuffo’s life, in which “the power and beauty of the moment is revealed“. Our pick, ‘Coming Home Late’, hints at the producer’s more minimalistic side, yet always keeping the attention on a propulsive and almost poignant ’80s synth shower.
