Premiere: TENGGER – PANAPTU

Following the release of their twelfth album last year, enigmatic South Korean-based family band TENGGER return with their next full-length in September, traversing celestial waves of New-Age psychedelia on Toronto-based imprint We Are Busy Bodies.

Produced and recorded by the Pan-Asian couple Itta and Marqido alongside their son RAAI, the trio explore the concept of sound traveling in all its spiritual dimensions. Their moniker, ‘TENGGER‘, means ‘unlimited expanse of sky’ in Mongolian. Listeners can expect a meditative expedition through cotton-like clouds with cherubic chants and ambient pads.

Our pick from the album is “PANAPTU” thanks to its reverent ode to “the earth and the sky”. Itta’s Oniric chants provide us with the illusion of comfort that we all need, as we live the drone-synth’s dream, where every detail is emphasised. Below is a quote from the band about the philosophy behind the album.

“The sun, the rain, and the things that grow on the ground make up our bodies and souls. Both can be compared to a mirror. Humanity (on the earth) looks up at the sky; the sky looks at us Illuminate each other and influence each other. Change is happening every moment.”

‘TENGGER’ is scheduled for release on 29th September via We Are Busy Bodies. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
