Since its reactivation over three years ago, Ewan Jansen’s Red Ember has been gracing us with some choice deep, vibin’ plates true to its master’s idiosyncratic sun-dazed house blends and cottony grooves, giving his 2000-born ‘Deepsounds‘ series a much welcome second wind (the fifth instalment came out in August).
Clocking in on Red Ember right in time for Australian summer, Melbourne’s Tim Jackiw delivers sonic tales of a “romantic dystopian future“, opening with the lusher than lush ‘My House Is Your House‘, now streaming through our channels.
Taking us on a vibrant journey across phantasmagoric tropics, Jackiw engineers a fine mix of fluttering synths, understated acid squelch and chimey melodies on a spaced-out balearic tip. Never mind the frozen fingers, dripping nose and rock-hard snowdrifts on your landing, it’s time for some Jacuzzi-warm feeeeelllsss.
Planet Fall EP is out now via Red Ember Records, order a copy from Juno.
