Bristol-based imprint Fate And Fiction mark their eighth release with an octet of floor-focused tracks from four artists delivering two tracks a head, there’s no shortage of heat on this one.
Bristolian producer Gallegos makes his label debut on this release, while label affiliates Joseph Cook and Thrilogy each demonstrate they’re more than capable producers in addition to their label duties. They’ve also recruited underground legend Tommy Vicari Jnr, the Sheffield producer delivering two standout cuts.
Tommy Vicari Jnr really seems to have gotten into his stride in the past few years or so, last year’s Jaco Pastorius-sampling ‘Portrait Of Thomas’ being a particular favourite around here. On ‘Messianic Tendencies’, the artist serves up some thumping feel-good house.
