Three years after their inaugural release, Bangkok-based record label Boiled Wonderland line up another batch of Siam heat ‘Floating Mists, Warm Vistas‘, courtesy of UK-born label boss Vell.
Deploying high-octane grooves, languorous synthesizers and neuroplastic progressions, Vell’s debut release depicts a glimpse of his daily vantage point in the misty city of angels. Produced strictly for gridlock freaks, this perky venture is meant to ward off evil spirits.
Our pick from the release is ‘Burning Trees’ stands out for its saccharine self-reflection wrapped in silky saxophone loops, terrestrial breaks and squelching bass. Get your scooter out and explore the area around Khlongtoey; you might find some of the most under-appreciated gems.
‘Burning Trees’ is scheduled for release on 22nd September via Boiled Wonderland. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
