Album Premiere: Damian Schwartz – The Dancing Behavior

Back from a three-year hiatus, Madrid-based multifaceted producer Damian Schwartz is set to make a comeback with his second album since the overlooked ‘Party Lovers‘. ‘The Dancing Behavior‘ is scheduled for release via his own imprint A Harmless Deed on April 25th

Relying on a solid classical background – mostly jazz and composition-oriented, the Spanish producer has evolved into a crucially more daring experimentalist over the years, exploring boogie-tinged electronic depths with a much more adventurous approach than his first outings would have lead us to believe.

Damian-Schwartz

"A lavish and effervescent trip for both the body and mind,
equally efficient as a remedy to rainy Sundays
and as an offbeat club weapon."

On ‘The Dancing Behavior‘, it’s more the essential ontology of hip-swaying and feet-shuffling than the exact sweat-inducing result that Schwartz seems to dissect. The momentum leading to a crowd turning ecstatic, its movement towards replete enjoyment and the overall occult nature of any DJ-to-dancer communion.

The album aligns inner planets and displays a shape-shifting cosmogony of virtual and natural balance ; melding a skittish house backfire on ‘Frau Odd‘, retro-laced synth lifts and tropicalised grooves on the ravishing ‘The Present‘ and further distorted funk mechanics on crazed mind-expander ‘Minor Moves‘.

Despite its rather minimal artwork, ‘The Dancing Behavior‘ is a lavish and effervescent trip for both the body and mind, equally efficient as a remedy to rainy Sundays and as an offbeat club weapon. Schwartz dishes out a serious treat for the senses.

The Dancing Behavior is released via A Harmless Deed on 25th April 2016.
