When it comes to turning the page on the sounds of techno, Alex Tsiridis knows when to live and let live — being one-half of Cassegrain, as well as one-half of the team running the Fever AM imprint (the other being the brilliant Mor Elian) affords a person certain sensibilities on what’s oncoming, ongoing and off-putting in terms of trendiness; and Tsiridis bucks all that with his solo works as Rhyw.
Fresh and fortuitous, he brings a deconstructed clang to dancefloors with his latest two-tracker, entitled ‘Biggest Bully / Felt‘. It’s a maddening blend of effusive, entropic and exploratory properties, blending bits of UK club music with the best of electrolytic majesty.
Sounds and feelings such as these need to be delved into, and Rhyw did just that with an excellent guest mix contribution to this week’s episode of Newtype Rhythms.
