“All The Right Noises” is Roman Flügel‘s third album for Dial and this time around the Frankfurt based producer presents ten tracks made up of ambient soundscapes, downtempo breakbeat and psychedelic experimentalism.
Since the mid-nineties Flügel has persistently dabbled with various techno related sub-genres. His previous albums ‘Fatty Folders‘ and ‘Happiness is Happening‘ drew upon Flügel’s seasoned pallet for their sound. Rather than focusing on one particular style he flipped between ambient, jazz, deep house and krautrock. As a result, Flügel strikes a perfect balance of sounds that are both nostalgic and futuristic.
In his new album Flügel has not specifically focussed with the club mind. He states -“To me the studio work is a welcome alternation from my DJ sets during the weekends. This time the opposition even goes so far, that I partially bypass obvious beats and even the classic 4/4 scheme is often avoided […] In addition to the contrast of the weekend business, I focused on the freedom of structure. Nothing needs to function. Some tracks are simply recorded live and never got quantised. It is an attempt to dissolve the musical pulse, or blurring it at least ”
Stand out tracks include the title track, ‘Fantasy‘, ‘The Mighty Sons‘, ‘Dead Idols‘ and ‘Warm And Dewy‘.
“All The Right Noises” is scheduled for release via Dial on 26th October 2016.
