Following the release of A/N’s hyper-abstract ‘ACIE E R R‘ cassette in February, Italian imprint OOH-sounds present the music video premiere of ‘Mentir en Temps de Crise‘, directed by Wes Anderson’s youngest assistant Leo Gack (Isle of Dogs, The French Dispatch) and Producing Love founder Zoé Martin.
Having previously released two albums as Apollo Noir on Tigersushi and Santé Records – the label he co-runs with Botine – A/N is the new production alias from Remi Sauzedde. With a penchant for experimental electronics, hardcore punk and augmented reality, A/N’s latest release is a fearlessly avant-garde album, presenting a sonic amalgam of atmosphere, beat, voice and textures, forged from a range of analogue synths and the help of drummer Seb Forrester.
Indeed, ‘ACIE E R R‘ (alliteration, French for steel) is not for the faint hearted, its raw sound-field is akin to the works of contemporaries such as Vladislav Delay, Demdike Stare, Quirke and Oneohtrix Point Never.
To help visualise the music contained within, OOH-sounds enlisted Leo Gack and Zoé Martin to produce the music video for the lead track ‘Mentir en Temps de Crise‘ – taking on the form of a futuristic leisurewear advert for an unknown brand specialising in warrior clothing, replete with chunky metal chains, that wouldn’t look out of place in The Hunger Games.
