Released a few weeks ago, Youngg P.‘s debut EP ‘Carpathian Rave‘ – the second instalment from the recently established Moscow-based imprint Private Persons – received quite a healthy dose of positive feedback; mostly thanks to a solid A-side that gave full vent to head-on sultry blends of brooding lo-fi ambiences and Draculean melodies.
This sheer sense of claustrophobia and eerie floor-friendliness shines to further extents on OOUKFunkyOO‘s visual mashup, which we’re glad to premiere today. “Metaphysics of egg” could well be the title to this troubling visual poem where a man bleeds from his eyes and naked bodies duel in existential close-ups and tense shots/reverse shots.
What if Jodorowsky, Parajanov and Sergio Leone had made a film together somewhere in USSR with eggs and the mysteries of life for main subject? You’ve got your answer.
Carpathian Rave is out now, order a vinyl copy from Juno.
