Gianluigi Di Costanzo, better known as Bochum Welt, crafted his first release for Rephlex Records way back in 1994. Since then, he’s been steadily pushing his own brand of warped electronics through a series of releases, culminating in his 2017 album “April” released via !K7.
An icon of the Braindance era, Costanzo’s music is a mutant symbiosis of acid house, breakbeat, electro and ambient that skews his influences through an aberrant lens in typical Rephlex fashion.
Bochum Welt’s 2007 extended player “Robotic Operating Buddy” is getting a digital reissue, and will be available on streaming services for the first time this weekend. The EP takes two tracks from his 2008 album of the same name – the second receiving an inspired remix from Heinrich Muller aka Gerald Donald of Drexciya fame.
