Today marks Damon Bell‘s return to R&S Records sub-label Meda Fury with the announcement of “Altered Visions“, his second iteration on the label due out on 18th November 2016.
“Altered Visions” follows up his Meda Fury debut “Hue-Man Made” EP released in 2014. The new four-tracker fuses pumping 808 kicks with jazz keys, gospel samples and hopping drums, seamlessly switching to shamanic acid-infused techno in ‘Kinetic Energy‘ with Deepblak and PAN affiliate Afrikan Sciences.
Originally from San Diego where the producer holds residencies at the Supper Club, Green Circle Bar and Bar Dynamite, the now Oakland-based producer made his debut in 2009 on Aybee’s imprint Deepblak, becoming one of the label’s key-components soon after. Hanging out in the house clubs of Los Angeles and San Diego helped Damon Bell forge his sound, drawing from his listening experience some enticing elixirs of hip-hop, jazz, salsa, funk and Afro-centric rhythms.
‘Altered Visions’ is scheduled for released via Meda Fury on 18th November 2016. Order a copy here.
