Florian T M Zeisig lines up ‘You Look So Serious I + II’ on Enmossed & Industrial Coast

First released in 2018, Florian T M Zeisig revisits his highly sought after second album ‘You Look So Serious‘ with a new retrospective volume named ‘You Look So Serious II‘ – presented as a double LP, crafted in collaboration with US label Enmossed and UK-based imprint and distributor Industrial Coast.

Functioning as both a retrospective and a deeper dive into self-expression, ‘You Look So Serious II‘ is a timely revisitation for Florian T M Zeisig, especially considering his recent production work with Kelela on her stunning album ‘Raven‘ on Warp.

Much like the first volume (released in 2018) – the second is a deeply attuned and absorbingly introspective album, composed out of 426 tape loops – that had not been used previously – from Enya’s album ‘Watermark‘ (released in 1988), resulting in deeply harmonic moments resounding similarly to ‘The Disintegration Loops‘.

Using up to eight pitch-able tape players, Zeisig cut these loops and reassembled them, crafting captivating sound dialogues whose unforeseen and precise beauty emerges from a sense of curiosity and awe in the layered relationship between fragments. Freeing itself from formal concerns as a guiding principle, the second volume unravels from a deeply emotional impulse towards artistic and personal honesty.

‘You Look So Serious I + II’ is scheduled for release on 18 June via Enmossed. Order a vinyl copy from Inverted Audio Store.
