Following her ‘Oral Suspension‘ 10-inch in 2017 on DBA Dubs, Ikonika steps up to Semtek’s primary imprint, Don’t Be Afraid, this April with her four-track ‘Bodies‘ EP.
Three years in the making, ‘Bodies‘ comes at a time of equilibrium for the producer, with self-acceptance and mindfulness the key takeaway. The EP is said to “trace her journey through reflections on substance abuse, PTSD and sexuality, which finally lead to renewed mindfulness and instincts for self-care”.
Speaking of the EP, Ikonika states “I want to reconnect my mind to the body”, and through a myriad of deconstructed club tones fraught with emotion, she explores these themes with effortless touch. Take a listen to the striking acidic deep-house cut ‘Your Body’ below.
