Succeeding the ‘Configurations 27’ EP release from Nolan in December 2023, Leeds-based imprint Configurations Of Self returns with the four-track ‘Everyday Mysteries Part 1‘ various artists.
Consisting of label head honcho Alexander Church, Brighton-based producer Nolan, Futureboogie’s affiliate James Welsh and Chris Cargo, ‘Everyday Mysteries Part 1’ VA dives deep into subconscious trains of thoughts with epileptic breaks, meditative ambient and laidback house. A conundrum of existence is divided into four tracks inspired by the puzzling theories of Emmy Van Duerzen.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Sleep Disturbance‘ produced by Alexander Church. From ground-shaking techno kickdrums to subterranean frequencies interspersed with mermaid-like chants to uncanny soundscapes reminiscent of the Soma Terra synthesizer, this track is nothing short of a remedy for insomnia disorders.
