Since the release of the series’ debut instalment back in 2006, Munich-based imprint Permanent Vacation has been putting out a quartet of stellar VA salvos featuring artists that represent the label in all its variety; witnessing its growth from the origins to a foreseeable future. Back two years after ‘Permanent Vacation 4‘, the German label’s set to release the 5th number in the collection. Including cuts from Chloé, Personal Message, Chinaski, Sascha Funke, Cooper Saver, Christian S, Julian Stetter and more, the compilation will hit the stores November 23.
Our pick ‘Yayang‘ is the work of Amsterdam duo Beesmunt Soundsystem, who you may certainly know through their previous EPs for Church, Pets Recordings, Kitjen and HNYTRX. David and Luigi also contributed this velveteen mix to our podcast series earlier this year, but that’s another story. Here the pair provided PV with a proper compelling tableau of deep organic house, where bird song-like flutes, rainforest field recordings, blissed-out pads and tribal polyrhythms languidly coalesce into a greater canvas of tropical luxuriance. With this soaking wet exotic chugger the Dutch whizzes prove once again that they know how to put on majestic voyages for the senses.
