From their base in rural Andalusia, foodandsound seem to take things at a slower pace. With a focus on physical formats, and vinyl releases in particular, it’s clear that the Spanish label take the utmost care when putting together each release.
Their next EP comes from Franky Redente. The London-based producer delves into the possibilities afforded by micro-tonalities on ‘Senza Titolo’, “exploring what’s hidden within a few milliseconds of sound and morphing it into an unknown landscape of timbres”.
A batch of refined dancefloor trips, the tracks on ‘Senza Titolo’ suggest that this microtonal approach has paid off for Redente. Our pick from the release is the Elniñodelospeines overdub of ‘StarKol’, the foodandsound label boss taking the title track in a more hazy atmospheric direction.
