Following the ‘Backflows’ release from Inuit Pagoda in October 2023, Swiss imprint Creaked return with a six-track remix compilation – courtesy of Canadian producer Nathan Jonson aka Hrdvsion.
Consisting of six tracks, ‘Captivated Heart: Remixed‘ features producers such as Ninja Tune’s affiliate Nathan Fake, Shanx, Hilltown Disco’s regular efemme, Sinistarr, Lusaka-based producer SHE Spells Doom and Hrdvsion himself. Throughout the release, the consortium of speedball rhythm disciples monitors critical heartbeats with braindance stethoscopes, techno pacemakers, electro vascular ultrasounds and live blood breaks sensors.
From the release, we recommend SHE Spells Doom‘s interpretation of Hrdvsion’s ‘Captivated Heart’ – with intricate snare arrangements, restless bass, cold kick drums, battle cry rallies enriched by infectious whistles, Wamya Tembo delivers an epic percussion-heavy jaunt conducted in the heart of The Zambezi river.
