Premiere: Jacques Bon & Drux – Your Wings

Following our announcement of the debut album from Jacques Bon and Drux arriving in July via Smallville Records – the label now run by Julius Steinhoff and Stefan Marx – today we are delighted to transmit the first track premiere from the double vinyl album.

Spanning 8 tracks, ‘A Long Way‘ is packed with the deepest shades of house music forged over the past year at Bon and Drux’s shared studio space in Paris. For the deep house heads, there’s a lot to love about this album, but for us it’s ‘Your Wings‘ that brings the heat.

Kicking off with a bouncy bassline akin to the much loved Deeparama sounds of DJ Sprinkles, ‘Your Wings‘ paves the path for an ethereal synth to sweep in and create an outer world sound dimension, embellished with shuffling shakers and drums to ramp up the tempo. For us this is as Smallville as you can get.

Looking ahead, Jacques Bon and Drux will host an album launch party in Paris on Friday 15 July at La Station joined by Lawrence (live), Lux and Julius Steinhoff. Info + Tickets.

‘A Long Way’ LP is scheduled for release July 1 via Smallville Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
